The Problem Keeping You From Success

My goal with this blog has been to help people solve this problem. The problem is that you may not be willing to make the changes that will help improve your life. Part of this problem is the matter of beliefs. You may not believe in my revelations. You may not acknowledge to yourself that limiting beliefs in your subconscious mind are keeping you from having a better life. You may not be willing to implant empowering beliefs into your subconscious mind. You may not believe that you are entitled to a better life.

I had all of these same obstacles to success. I was only able to overcome them out of desperation to improve my life in retirement. So if you can’t overcome these obstacles, I understand. No one can force you to make the needed changes. It is all up to you.

I have attacked this problem from many sides in prior posts to this blog. I want this post to be my final attack on the problem. Then I will have occasional posts on current economic problems and how to reduce their impact on your life.

By reading about the powers of the subconscious mind, my magical revelations from the universe, and the struggles to improve my life, you may be encouraged to try improving your own life. But then again, maybe not.

In any case, I don’t see any point in continuing to rehash the same concepts repeatedly. So this will be my final post on this subject.

How the subconscious mind guides your life

The subconscious mind is that hidden portion of your consciousness that supports and guides your daily activities. It has to remain unseen, otherwise its tremendous power and massive activities would overwhelm your conscious mind.

The subconscious mind interprets your surroundings and beliefs, and thereby creates the reality that you experience in day-to-day living. For example, when you open your eyes in the morning, you can observe your surroundings with no apparent effort on your part. However, your subconscious mind performs a tremendous effort to accomplish this feat.

Imagine, if you can, that you are sitting in a dark room and are holding two bundles of electrical wires. These wires are the optic nerves that carry information from the optic cells at the back of your eyeballs. Using the electrical signals from your optic nerves (and the information stored in the vast memory of your subconscious mind), you must create the three-dimensional image of your surroundings that your conscious mind receives. You must also identify the objects contained in this image. Can you imagine yourself doing this? Probably not. However, this incredible miracle of seeing is just one of the many tasks that your subconscious mind must carry out every split second of every day.

Now let’s look at an even more important task that your subconscious mind must perform. It uses the assumptions, beliefs, expectations, experiences, habits, rules of thumb, and wisdom stored in its memory to determine how to perform your day-to-day activities. In addition, it must determine what activities you are capable of performing. Thus, when you are trying to accomplish something new, you may have feelings of fear or doubt about this new activity. These feelings are coming from your subconscious mind. You may have had some limiting beliefs stored away in your subconscious mind from childhood. These beliefs may make it difficult for you to attempt new activities.

On the other hand, if your subconscious mind is controlled by empowering beliefs, you may have feelings of confidence and courage when you attempt a new activity. These empowering beliefs may have developed during a supportive childhood or may have resulted from a series of your achievements earlier in life. It is also possible to directly implant empowering beliefs into your subconscious mind using affirmations, physical actions, or visualizations.

These empowering beliefs, and the skills and experiences you develop from completing new activities, allow you to enjoy a life of success. You may even be able to live the life of your dreams. It all depends on the choices you make and the actions you take.

Deciding what you want from life

Speaking of choices, one of the most important decisions is what to do with your life. This assumes of course that you want to take charge of your life and live life to the fullest. This decision can be difficult if you have too many limiting beliefs and lack useful skills and experiences. However, you can always overcome limiting beliefs and thereby open the door to developing new skills and experiences.

This is what I accomplished after retiring from a lackluster career in public accounting. However, I wouldn’t have been able to do this without the magical revelations that I received from the universe. These revelations showed me the way to take charge of my life and get the tough jobs done. I was able to make this change despite my lack of ambition and courage at that time.

My revelations from the universe

These revelations may shock you. They certainly shocked me when I first received them. But please don’t judge them until you read the topic that follows below them.

My magical revelations:

  • You are personally responsible for the successes and failures that you experience in life. You have the ability to improve things by taking charge of your life and assuming responsibility for your mistakes and problems.
  • Your subconscious mind uses the controlling beliefs that are hidden away inside it to help interpret your apparent situation in life and the resulting possibilities.
  • Beliefs are not the same as reality. The controlling beliefs in your subconscious mind may not reflect your actual situation in life and the resulting possibilities.
  • When limiting beliefs control your subconscious mind, you are discouraged from seeking and achieving success in life.
  • When empowering beliefs control your subconscious mind, you are encouraged to seek out challenges and achieve success in life.
  • You can change your beliefs to reflect your actual situation in life or your desires for a better life. Thus, you can use empowering beliefs to reduce the adverse effects of any limiting beliefs that are present in your subconscious mind.

I developed certain insights after discovering how my subconscious mind could help solve some of my problems. However, this happened before I received the preceding revelations. Thus, I did not make the most use out of this discovery.

Here are my insights:

  • Your subconscious mind contains a vast storehouse of knowledge and wisdom.
  • Your subconscious mind, properly trained, can help you solve problems, enhance creative work, and make difficult decisions.
  • Your subconscious mind has to be convinced you’re serious before it will help you.

I have accumulated practical knowledge from my life experiences and the self-help books I studied. This practical knowledge has helped me put my revelations and insights into action.

Here is my practical knowledge:

  • You may acquire limiting beliefs during your childhood and early adulthood. These beliefs result from the admonitions received from your parents and other people. These warnings were meant to protect you from harm.
  • Since your beliefs are hidden away inside your subconscious mind, you may not be aware of those limiting beliefs that can have an adverse effect on your life.
  • Various techniques are available to instill new beliefs into your subconscious mind. These include affirmations, physical actions, and visualizations.
  • After you overcome any limiting beliefs and/or other obstacles preventing you from starting or finishing a new or difficult project, you then must take constructive actions to complete the project.

Note: These constructive actions may include gathering any required information, making step-by-step plans, starting work on your goal, monitoring your results, correcting any problems, and reviewing the final results.

The problems with my revelations

The above revelations turned my life around after I finally accepted them and put them into practice. To test them out, I began to implant empowering beliefs into my subconscious mind using affirmations and visualizations. Then I began to strive for my goals. The more I was able to achieve the more I sought to increase my empowering beliefs. But first, I had to overcome the following problem.

It was difficult for me to understand and accept these revelations when I received them. These ideas seemed rather strange and somewhat threatening. Besides, who was I to receive revelations from the universe? I was a nobody, a failure. I was doomed to suffer through a meaningless retirement after my lackluster career had ended. At least, that’s what I thought to myself.

In fact, the only reason that I finally began to consider using these revelations was that they answered all my questions about the meaning of life and reality. They told me why I was such a failure. They told me why some people can be such a success.

Even then, I had to overcome one big problem. I didn’t want to change my beliefs. After all, without my beliefs I would not know what to do or what to think. My beliefs have guided me all my life.

Eventually I realized that my current beliefs haven’t helped me all that much. My results in the later years of my life had been nothing to brag about. Moreover, since my life was already at a low ebb, I didn’t have much to lose. So I decided to test these revelations.

Taking action and achieving my goals

I used affirmations and revelations to implant a few empowering beliefs into my subconscious mind. This helped me in pursuing my goals. But the big change happened one morning when I woke up and received a burst of energy from out of nowhere. This got me going and encouraged me to keep using affirmations and visualizations to increase my personal powers. After a certain point, I was able to keep working on my goals until I completed them.

My first two goals for retirement were to finish my website and publish my ebook. These goals were meant to develop my writing abilities and help other people have a better life. Now that I have completed these goals, my next challenge is to start an online business and start making some money for myself. You see, I inherited some money from my parents and lost it all. Now I want to learn to be responsible with money and start enjoying the finer things in life. So I need a fresh pot of gold to accomplish this.

Here’s hoping the readers of this blog can learn from my mistakes and successes. Then they can improve their own lives.

How to Achieve Success

If you want to achieve success in life, this post may help you. My definition of success is setting and attaining meaningful goals. By meaningful goals, I mean activities and events that benefit you and other people.

Following are common obstacles to success and ways to overcome them.

Lack of desire for improvement

When you were a child, it was common for your parents and other adults to warn you about possible dangers. These repeated warnings may still reside within your subconscious mind as limiting beliefs. These limiting (false) beliefs may prevent you from taking action to improve your life. They may even prevent you from wanting to improve your life.

To overcome this obstacle, you may need to implant empowering beliefs into your subconscious mind. For example, you need to believe that you are entitled to a better life and that you are capable of achieving it.

Lack of meaningful goals

The next obstacle is not knowing what to do with your life. You may not enjoy your present circumstances. However, you may not know what alternatives are available. Perhaps you should discover your natural talents and true desires. Then you can use goals to create a future that uses your natural talents and satisfies your true desires.

If we encounter the hard times that I am expecting, many people will need inexpensive ways to survive. Perhaps you could supply some of these needs. The basic needs are clothing, food, housing, employment, medical care, entertainment, and so on.

Lack of research and planning

After choosing a suitable and attainable goal, you may want to research the best ways to achieve this goal. You need to find out what abilities and resources are needed. You need to find out the best way to accomplish the goal.

Then you can plan how to acquire these abilities and resources. In addition, you can plan the action steps needed to accomplish the goal.

Lack of abilities and resources

In this step, you should acquire any needed abilities and/or resources. (Note: When setting your first few goals, they should require only those abilities and resources that you already have or can easily obtain.)

You acquire abilities by first getting any needed information. Then you use trial and error to accomplish various tasks.

You acquire any needed cash or other resources by first eliminating any unnecessary personal expenses. Then you could use various bootstrap methods to acquire resources. You also could get a loan, get a silent partner, or do some jobs on the side to raise money.

Lack of decisive actions

At this stage, you are ready to use decisive actions to achieve your goals. You already should have planned the needed action steps. Now you should follow your plan and take the needed actions, step-by-step. You may require an action trigger on occasion to keep working. You might want to use time-saving tips. In addition, you should monitor the results you are achieving toward your goal

Failure to face and overcome problems

When striving toward a worthwhile goal, you are likely to encounter problems. Most problems won’t go away by themselves. You should face any problems, accept personal responsibility for your success or failure, and do whatever it takes to solve the problems.

You may have to do some additional research to find out how other people have solved the same type of problems.

Not achieving the desired results

After you have accomplished your goal, you should verify that the results would help you to a better life. Most goals have two desirable results. First, they should increase your abilities and resources. Second, they should improve the quality of your life.

If your goal has not given you the desired results, you have two possibilities. One option is to go back and do what is needed to give you the desired results. The other option is to accept the results. However, you then should use these inadequate results to plan better goals in the future.

Surviving in Hard Times

As the US economy declines to lower levels, some people are going to start asking themselves what they can do to survive. This post explains one possible strategy.

The true state of affairs

When facing a difficult situation, the first step is to discover the true state of affairs. It appears that the authorities have chosen to sugarcoat the facts. One way to discover the actual conditions in the US economy is to visit the Shadow Stats website. There you can review statistics calculated as they were in the past. The truth is that economic growth, inflation, and unemployment are far worse than officially reported.

Available opportunities

Now that we know the deplorable facts – what can we do to survive the hard times until things improve? We can search for available opportunities that we can exploit. Regardless of how bad things get, there are always people willing to pay to get their needs and desires satisfied. Even if people lack money, they can exchange services or other resources with each other. There is always something that people can do to improve their situation in life.

Preparing yourself

Here is where my own experiences come into play. I was able to improve my situation in life by using my subconscious mind in several different ways:

  • I trained my subconscious mind to solve my problems.
  • I tricked my subconscious mind into believing that I had new powers.
  • I convinced my subconscious mind that I was entitled to a better life.

These methods allowed me to achieve the initial goals for my retirement. Because of my new attitudes and beliefs, I was able to accept responsibility for my own successes and failures in life. I looked back over my past actions and realized that I was solely responsible for my shortcomings. But now, thanks to the power of my subconscious mind,  I can improve my life. I just need to decide what goals to pursue and what attitudes and beliefs they require.

Taking action

The first step in taking action is to assume control of your own life. Decide what you want from life and start using your subconscious mind to increase your personal powers. Then you can seek out an opportunity that you can exploit. Start with those simple goals you can accomplish right now. As you gain more experience and enhanced abilities, try for larger goals. Be willing to make mistakes and solve your own problems. Use trial and error to gain the needed experience.

Conclusion

Changing Your Life

Are you tired of a boring life? Are you worried about the future? This post describes how to start making changes to your life. This description uses my own experiences as an example.

Comparing our lives

I don’t know how my experiences in changing my life will compare to your experiences. For one thing, I was retired when I started making the changes. Thus, I didn’t much care if I made a complete mess of things. On the other hand, I was starting from a very low state of affairs. By the time I retired, I had lost most of my ambition, energy, and self-confidence. Just bringing my life back up to a normal situation would be a great improvement.

At any rate, reading about my experiences may help you decide whether to try making changes to your own life.

My goals and limitations

As my retirement date approached, I started working on a website to help people. I was hearing from many reliable commentators that the US government was accumulating too much debt. This would lead to hard times in the future. So, I wanted to do something to help people during the coming bad conditions. However, I was having difficulties with this project. My writing talents weren’t up to the challenge. I kept making mistakes and going around in circles.

My first goal for retirement was to reorganize, improve, and complete my website. However, I would first need to enhance my writing abilities. After those two projects, I wanted to write some self-help books. I wanted to help people because I had been selfish most of my life.

Although I had written many business letters during my public accounting career, my writing always took too long to plan and write. In addition, my letters often needed corrections. So, I was facing a big challenge in having to write extensive content for my website and self-help books.

Self-empowerment methods

Before my retirement, I had discovered how to use my subconscious mind to help me solve certain problems. I also had used affirmations to give myself a few desirable attitudes. However, I never considered using these methods to help overhaul my life. I lacked the ambition and self-confidence needed to make such large improvements.

Then I received some powerful revelations from the universe. This is explained in the Receiving My Revelations post. The insights from these revelations showed me how to replace the limiting beliefs in my subconscious mind with empowering beliefs. I finally knew how to improve my life and achieve my goals. However, I lacked the personal drive to tackle such large projects.

Then, a miracle happened. When I got up one morning, I received a jolt of energy. This energy jolt allowed me to start working vigorously on my website for a while. I assumed that this energy jolt was another temporary gift from the universe. So, I created a visualization to give myself a burst of energy whenever needed.

Improving my abilities

With my renewed drive, I started working on the website in earnest. I began using my subconscious mind to improve my writing. I had noticed in the past that sometimes solutions to my problems would just pop into my conscious mind for no apparent reason. I knew that the subconscious mind has fantastic abilities. So it must have been the source for these solutions. I decided to try using these abilities to improve my writing.

This is the method I developed:

  1. Review the defective writing for several minutes.
  2. Expect my subconscious mind to improve this writing.
  3. Don’t be concerned with this problem anymore.
  4. Go to sleep to allow my subconscious mind to consider my writing problem.
  5. When my subconscious mind pops a possible solution into my conscious mind during the next day or so, use it to improve my writing.

With this method, I would just write something, anything, about my current topic. Then I would expect my subconscious mind to improve the writing. This procedure usually worked like a charm.

Wow! My new approach saved a lot of time. I didn’t have to spend all that time in planning what to write and worrying about how to fix my mistakes. This vast improvement in my writing ability helped to restore my ambition and self-confidence. I knew what I wanted to achieve with my writing. And I believed in the ability of my subconscious mind to help me get the work done.

After improving my writing ability, I decided to try supercharging my personal powers. I implanted empowering beliefs into my subconscious mind to offset the adverse effect of the limiting beliefs that it held. The result was fantastic! I felt that I could do almost anything now. However, this was not quite true. All I had accomplished was to remove the roadblocks to taking action. Next, I had to actually take action and accomplish the desired results.

Enhancing your experiences

I believe that you need to enhance your experiences to achieve a better life. It isn’t enough merely to wish for better things in life. First, you have to remove the roadblocks to taking action. Then, you must actually take action and get results. After you achieve success at a certain level, you can try for a higher level of success. You can decide how high you want to climb. But in order to achieve success, you need the experiences derived from taking action and getting the desired result.

Consider what happens to people who win large lottery prizes. You can read or hear about people who can’t handle their newfound wealth. They don’t have the experience of dealing with large amounts of money. They often make foolish mistakes and lose all their prize money. They even may become worse off than before they won the lottery. The problem is their lack of experience with large amounts of money.

Conclusion

So if you want to improve your life, don’t just wish for something good to happen. You need to start making things happen. You need the experience of making mistakes and then correcting them. Your enhanced experiences will allow you to achieve your goals and improve your life.

Conquering the Roadblocks to Success

This posting identifies four types of roadblocks to success and shows how to conquer them.

Limiting beliefs

This blocking force has been discussed many times in this blog. The main problem with this roadblock is that people aren’t aware of their limiting beliefs and so they don’t take steps to eliminate them.

An easy way to determine if you have limiting beliefs is to study your situation in life. If you aren’t happy with your present situation but aren’t making any effort to improve things, you probably are burdened with limiting beliefs. This is especially the case if you don’t believe that you are entitled to have a better life.

The way to solve this problem is to implant empowering beliefs into your subconscious mind. You need to look at the goals you want to accomplish and decide what abilities or attitudes you will need to achieve these goals.

The final step is to implant these empowering beliefs into your subconscious mind. You can go to this chapter in my website to review three simple ways of gaining new beliefs.

Failure to face and solve problems

The main reason that people don’t face their problems is that they don’t know how to solve them. I have used two methods to solve my own problems.

One method is to research the Internet or other sources of information to see how other people have solved the same type of problem. If you have access to the Internet, it is the easiest way to search for solutions to the type of problem that you have. You can use the following search term: how do I [describe your goal or problem]? Examples:

  • how do I start a small business?
  • how do I fix a plumbing problem?

Another method is to train your subconscious mind to help you solve problems. This method was described in my Yes, I Can !! posting. Your subconscious mind has access to an immense storehouse of information. It should be able to help you solve many types of problems.

Failure to take action

Unless you start taking action to get what you want, you will never achieve your objective. You learn new abilities by trial and error. You should expect to make mistakes. As you find out what doesn’t work, you are getting closer to what does work. You can shorten the learning curve by using the same kind of research as used to conquer the above roadblock.

However, the key to overcoming this roadblock is simply to start taking action. Of course, you want to avoid dangerous situations. In addition, you want to start with goals that are easy to achieve. As you gain more experience, you can try to achieve larger goals. Each success at one level paves the way for success at a higher level.

Other common obstacles

There are other common obstacles, such as a habit of procrastination or lack of needed skills. These common obstacles and the methods that can be used to overcome them are discussed in the Overcoming Roadblocks to Action posting.

Conclusion

Roadmap to a Better Life

Sometimes you need a roadmap to help you get to a better life. This post explains how I created a roadmap for my journey. Perhaps the roadmap described below can help you to a better life.

My desires for a roadmap

When I was growing up, I observed how some people enjoyed life and others just struggled day by day. Of course, I was right there among the strugglers. I always wondered, “What are the secrets that some people seem to have? Why do so many people have to struggle to get through life?”

I yearned for some instructions that would show me the way. What goal should I try for? What are the next steps? How can I solve my problems? How can I get the tough jobs done? Well, I never found the instructions. Of course, I read self-help books. They explained what steps to take and/or what traits or habits were needed to be successful. However, they didn’t show me how to overcome my laziness. They also didn’t delve into what I considered the ultimate secrets to success.

Design for a roadmap

As I was nearing retirement, I renewed my desire for a roadmap to success. I wanted a roadmap with two main features. The first feature would be just a list of procedures to achieve any type of goal. Since I might try to achieve different types of goals, I wanted to include procedures that would cover any possibility. Some of these procedures would be used on every goal and other procedures would be used only for a certain type of goal. These procedures would be placed into various groups  and the groups would be placed in the proper sequence for achieving a goal.

The second feature would be a series of special methods that could be used to overcome various types of obstacles to achieving goals. For example, there might be reasons why I would fail to start taking action on a project. I would also need help in solving the various problems that might arise while working toward a goal.

I believed that this type of roadmap would be able to help me improve my life and achieve my dreams for retirement.

I made some progress with the first feature of this roadmap while I was still working. The second feature of this roadmap still eluded me.

Creating the roadmap

Then one day, in my golden years, I asked the universe for help in my quest for answers. Some time later, I started to receive revelations about the true nature of life and reality. These revelations were both simple and shocking! Once I had received and studied them, they seemed so obvious. Yet, the truth was rather brutal. They informed me that my disappointments in life were my own fault! I had the wrong attitudes about life and reality. My limiting beliefs had done me in. They needlessly restricted my actions. Yet I needed some type of beliefs to guide my life. Without them, I wouldn’t know what to do.

As I received more revelations, the mystery cleared up. Beliefs may not reflect reality. They simply form a framework that lets your subconscious mind attempt to interpret reality. You can change your beliefs. Moreover, as you enhance your beliefs, your opportunities magically expand. The artificial barriers to action fade away. What before had seemed impossible can become possible.

These revelations helped me overcome the main obstacle to achieving my goals for retirement. Finally, I knew the ultimate secrets to success. After implanting empowering beliefs into my subconscious mind, I became supercharged with new powers. I was finally able to reorganize, improve, and complete my website.

Receiving My Revelations

Many of my posts to this blog are based on the insights and methods derived from the magical revelations I received from the universe. This post explains how I came to receive these revelations. You may wonder why I was chosen to receive these revelations. I certainly didn’t do anything to deserve them, except to ask for help. It is my contention that if these revelations could help such a lazy and dispirited person as me, they should be able to help almost anyone.

Previous gifts from the universe

While I was working in the public accounting profession, I received two magical gifts from the universe. One of the gifts was an overwhelming surge of self-confidence before an important meeting with the boss and some clients. The other gift was an overpowering feeling of love toward a stranger when I was buying paint at Lowe’s home improvement store.

Asking for help

As my retirement date was approaching, I became worried about my future. I had achieves only moderate success in my public accounting career. The main problem was that I had become quite lazy! All of my ambition, energy, and self-confidence had slowly dissipated over the years. I needed to regain these abilities and attitudes somehow. Then I could fulfill my goals for retirement–to help people and exploit my natural talents. Over the years, I had read various self-help books, but they never gave me the underlying facts I needed to accept them. Their primary message of using hard work to achieve success did not jibe with my laziness.

Looking back on my past life, I recalled the two magical gifts I had received. Therefore, I decided to ask the universe for help.

Receiving the revelations

It took about a year for me to receive and understand the revelations. Here they are, expressed as a guide for my readers:

  1. You are personally responsible for the successes and failures that you experience. You have the ability to improve things by taking charge of your life and assuming responsibility for your destiny.

I was disappointed in the first revelation that I received. I had developed a habit of blaming someone or someone else for my problems. This first revelation took away that crutch. Besides, it didn’t provide any details on how to solve my problems or improve my life.

The subsequent revelations explained the source of my problems. It seems that the beliefs that controlled my subconscious mind were mainly responsible for the success or failure that I experienced in life. If I was dissatisfied with my results in life, it probably meant that my subconscious mind was being controlled by limiting beliefs. The revelations explained that the solution to this problem was to implant empowering beliefs into my subconscious mind.

After receiving and understanding the big picture, I was able to start taking action.

Testing the revelations

I had been working on a website to help people survive the coming hard times. However, I was making a mess of things. I really didn’t know how to structure this website or what information to put into it. I kept making changes and going around in circles. It appeared that this project was beyond my abilities. However, after using the insights from these magical revelations, I became empowered and was able build a useful website. In addition, I published an ebook that explained these revelations and their insights. This ebook included the methods I developed to put these revelations and insights into action. During this time, I seemed to be a different person. It was an exciting experience for me.

Conclusion

I am no one special; in fact, I am less than special. Therefore, if I can improve my life using these insights and methods anyone should be able to do the same. How to join the circle of success

Have you been trying to join the circle of success, yet still remain outside of it? This article explains why some people cannot improve their life even after repeatedly using one or more of the popular self-improvement methods.

This article is not meant to criticize the various success methods that are popular with the public. Instead, this article merely seeks to explain why some people, even after much effort in using these methods, are unable to improve their life. The following insights and methods result from revelations I have received, and my personal experiences in training my own subconscious mind.

Since I am not a famous success guru, you may not believe me. That is perfectly natural. I merely suggest that if everything else has failed, you may want to try my insights and methods.

Why popular success methods may not help you

I believe that popular self-improvement methods may not work for you because they tend to sugarcoat the facts. They may not want to reveal the painful truth. Success promoters want to be popular. That is how they can make money and try to help people solve their problems. I am different. I don’t especially want to be popular and I don’t care about getting rich. Therefore, I am willing to explain what may be causing your failures in life, even if these concepts expose me to ridicule.

It is not easy to become successful. It takes time and effort. But I believe that anyone can improve their life if they are willing to try.

The painful truth

Warning — the truth may only be fit for the bold and the brave. For others, it may be too painful to know.

Your disappointments in adult life may be due to the limiting (false) beliefs you have accumulated over your life. These beliefs were meant to limit your exposure to danger when you were a child. However, since these limiting beliefs are hidden away in your subconscious mind, you may not even be aware of them.

Okay, right about now you may want to kick me! Why do I say that you may harbor limiting beliefs? I say this because I want to help you. Because I know that my own subconscious mind is littered with limiting (false) beliefs. Besides, I know from my own experience that these limiting beliefs can be overridden by implanting empowering beliefs into your subconscious mind.

How the subconscious mind guides your life

The subconscious mind performs the following functions:

  • It controls the various internal functions of your body, such as your digestive system.
  • It allows you to be aware of your surroundings by interpreting your five senses.
  • It assumes control over your physical actions when needed, such as when you are driving and are lost in thought.
  • It stores all your attitudes, beliefs, experiences, habits, knowledge, rules of thumb, and skills in its memory.
  • It uses these stored attitudes, beliefs, experiences, habits, knowledge, rules of thumb, and skills to interpret the meaning of the events in your life.
  • It determines your automatic reactions to the events in your life.
  • It largely determines what you can achieve, or even desire, in life.

It requires massive activities for the subconscious mind to perform the above functions. These activities have to be concealed from your conscious mind, or it would be overwhelmed. As a consequence, you are unable to examine the beliefs that your subconscious mind uses to guide your adult life. Beliefs that were useful to guide your life as a child may be too limiting to guide your life as an adult. Yet, you may not be aware of this problem.

The solution to this problem is to first determine if limiting beliefs are in control of your subconscious mind. If so, you need to replace them with empowering beliefs. Look around at your surroundings and your status in life. If they disappoint you, it probably is due to your limiting beliefs. In this case, you need to replace your limiting beliefs with empowering beliefs.

How to overcome the harmful effects of your limiting beliefs

You have to implant empowering beliefs into your subconscious mind to override the harmful effect of your limiting beliefs. Following are the two methods that have helped me improve myself and achieve my goals for retirement.

1. Affirmations — Here are some examples of empowering beliefs you can implant into your subconscious mind using affirmations:

  • I am confident and forceful.
  • I enjoy completing a difficult project.
  • I am a take-charge person.
  • I believe in myself.

An affirmation is one or more phrases, such as the four above. Notice that each phrase shows you with this ability or attitude now, not at some time in the future. Say these phrases out loud with emphasis and strong emotion. Repeat these phrases several times each session. Perform each session two or three times a day.

2. Visualizations — These are guided daydreams. First, you would construct a scene for this daydream. Write it down so you can memorize it. It should show you actively using whatever attitudes or beliefs you want to implant into your subconscious mind. During this daydream, you also want to feel strong emotions of joy about having these new abilities. This visualization should show you having these abilities now, not sometime in the future.

Now, perform the visualization. Close your eyes, see the scene play out in your mind, and feel the strong emotions of joy. Repeat this visualization two or three times a day for several weeks. By this time, you should begin to actually display these new abilities.

Following through with action

After gaining these empowering abilities and attitudes, you should follow through with some appropriate action, such as choosing and completing a meaningful goal. Start with easy goals at first. Then you can gradually add more empowering beliefs and choose more difficult goals. This is how you achieve success in life.

Regardless of circumstances, your subconscious mind is always available to help you. It contains a vast storehouse of knowledge. Good luck in your quest for a better life.

Solving problems

It happened again. I had a very tough problem I could not solve. I tried searching on the Internet but what I found was mostly people wanting to sell me something. Then the magic happened. My subconscious mind came through with a solution. It seems to have considered all my needs and circumstances. First I have some preliminary work to do – then I’ll put this solution into action.

Have you ever had some problem that you couldn’t seem to solve? Why not try putting that old reliable tool into action. That tool, of course, is your subconscious mind. It can be your ever faithful slave. It has an unlimited storehouse of information and it can be very creative.

Using my method

Let me explain how to use your subconscious mind. There are certain rules you must follow.

1. Carefully review a written statement of the problem for several minutes.

2. Expect your subconscious mind to solve the problem.

3. Don’t be concerned about the problem any more.

4. Go to sleep so your subconscious mind can review the problem and find possible solutions.

5. When a possible solution to the problem pops into your conscious mind after a few days, try it out.

Why my method works

The above steps show your subconscious mind that you are serious about getting the problem solved.

Now you know the basics. You can use this method to start training your subconscious mind. Your subconscious mind wants to help out. You just have to follow the above rules.

Overcoming the Reality Illusion

There could be a rainbow in your future showing the way to a better life. First though, you may have to overcome the reality illusion. This is the illusion that misrepresents what you can achieve in life. I call this an illusion because it is based on beliefs rather than reality. It is based on opinions rather than facts.

Source of the reality illusion

The reality illusion is present when the beliefs used by your subconscious mind to interpret reality do not reflect your true abilities, desires, and possibilities. You may have unknowingly acquired limiting beliefs early in life. When you were growing up you needed these limiting beliefs to protect yourself from possible dangers. These limiting beliefs are hidden away in your subconscious mind. They are not readily available to your conscious mind. About the only way to discover if you have these limiting beliefs is to review your accomplishments in life. If you are dissatisfied with your surroundings, you probably are being held back by limiting beliefs.
